02) destination
I think this a song I composed for making the whole band happy. As a result, the members seemed very happy during the recording... For me, this song belongs to the kind of I-like-but-I-don't-have-much-changes-to-compose type, a song belongs to I-want-to-show-on-LIVE type......

04) akatsuki no kuruma / 暁の車
It's a song where FictionJunction YUUKA was born. I thought about let whom, who must have a voice to sing tragedies, to sing it after the composing. Then I remembered YUUKA. I also remember that we got the name, FictionJunction YUUKA soon after the recording. This is a song I made for the animation “GUNDAM SEED,” and it has been used very well in the animation.

05) dare mo inai basho / 誰もいない場所
This is the only one song that I made the lyrics firstly. Recently, I composed much and with the melody finished firstly. Sometimes, it's very troublesome to fill the lyrics afterwards, though it may be more emotional to compose the melody firstly. In a few times, I tried to write the lyrics firstly, and then the melody burst out naturally; it's really very happy.

06) seiya / 聖夜

This is a song with deep memories: I asked YUUKA-chan on the stage of musical to sing some years ago, and then I got the idea to work with her at the first time. Although we've done the recording already, this time we re-arranged and re-recorded it for matching the current YUUKA-chan.

07) shizukana kotoba / しずかなことば
In the past, at some time when I thought about that where to use the name “FictionJunction,” and what the song of “FictionJunction” should be; I composed this song randomly. Like in winter of 1999. I just composed it happily without considering on where to show it, and the lyrics either the arrangement kept as the original. For me, I have deep emotions on that this song could be included into the album; because there are almost no so many things that will be fulfilled “at some time.”

08) futari / ふたり
I didn't want to arrange it too much, and thus I kept the melody with only the piano solo; also the lyrics, it's sung together with the melody without more attentions. It's like a 5-minute impromptu. We done the recording in one time with winking to each other. It went on so smoothly.

09) hitomi no kakera / 瞳の欠片
“What will you do for FictionJunction YUUKA? Choose a most FJY-like song!” When I'm asked like this, for me, I think only this one but no any others can be the candidates. The melody, arrangement, and lyrics, on all these aspects they were made by my own style, also I think it's a FictionJunction YUUKA-like song.

10) nostalgia
Among all songs from the album, I did some adventures in terms of composing for YUUKA-chan's singing, but I wrote this song with only the idea “I wrote it for YUUKA-chan's voice.” Maybe it's a song I made from the point of the-charm-of-YUUKA-chan's-voice-in-Kajiura's-mind. The intermezzo is long, because I wanted to enjoy Akagi-san (flute)'s solo. Sorry for that. Especially during the time of making the PV, I apologized in my mind to YUUKA-chan, who sang the full sized song for so many times in the rain, at each time when the intermezzo went out. But we'd got to do it, right? The long intermezzo. (seems I don't care the apologizing at all)
